Steelhead
Steelhead are a coming and coming fast, we got one today while fishing for trout and heard of four others being caught by a couple of buds who were down chasing them around. Even for as warm as the water temps are there sure seems to be a lot of fish around right now. In theroy PGE started letting more cool water out of Pelton Dam on the first of this month I don’t know what they are saving all the cold water for. The more cool water they let out of the dam will make the steelhead more happy and willing to come up the Deschutes River.
The trout fishing is pretty darn good right now and there is hardly anyone down there. The dries have been up and down a bit but the nymphing has been some of the best of the season. There is still some good evening caddis hatches going on right now and the trout are more than willing to chase them down.
Good Luck and Tight Lines
