The Deschutes is fishing well right now. The warm weather has the caddis hatch in full swing, and fish are actively feeding throughout the day, especially during the evening hatch.
Anglers are finding success with dry flies like elk hair caddis. Caddis pupae and emerger patterns continue to produce when fish aren't looking up. Be sure to watch for rising fish as the hatch builds toward dusk.
If the warm weather continues, expect the caddis action to remain strong over the next several days. It's a great time to get out on the river.
