Hello Everyone,
If you're itching to spend a day or two on a small stream with a chance to hook into some beautiful brown trout, the Owyhee River is looking good. August is usually and good time for do some hopper fishing out east.
Water levels are holding steady, although they're running a bit lower than normal for this time of year. Fishing has been consistent, and with the right approach, anglers have a great opportunity to find healthy, hard-fighting trout.
As for the Deschutes, the recent warm weather has made for good to excellent dry fly fishing. With temperatures expected to climb again this coming week, we should see the caddis hatch really start to fire. That should provide some outstanding fishing and plenty of opportunities to target trout on dries.
If you've been thinking about getting out on the water, now is a great time to out on the river. Feel free to reach out if you'd like the latest conditions, fly recommendations, or to book a guided day on the river.
Tight lines,
