Fishing Report

The Deschutes River is fishing good, with warm summer weather bringing on strong caddis hatches morning and evenings. Trout have been actively feeding on the surface during the hatch, making dry fly fishing especially productive in the late afternoon and evening hours.

During the day, nymphing with caddis pupae, mayfly nymphs, and small stonefly patterns continues to produce consistent action. Early mornings can also offer good opportunities before temperatures rise.

As always, focus on fishing during the cooler parts of the day, handle fish carefully, and release them quickly to help protect the fishery during the summer heat.
